While the Star sailors of the 17th District are still waiting for the wind to sail the first race of their championship, sailors from other places around the world are preparing to compete in various events this weekend.
- At Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club, in the US State of New Jersey, the traditional Tomahawk Regatta will be the District 12 Championship.
- The Bayview One Design Michigan State Championship will be held on Lake St.Clair in Detroit.
- The California Yacht Club will host the Cal Race Week in Marina del Rey.
- The LobStar Cup will be the first official Star regatta organized in Nova Scotia (Canada) by the new Shelburne Harbour Star fleet.
- The Star sailors from northern Germany will gather at the Verein Seglerhaus am Wannsee in Berlin to compete in the Lawuse Preis.
- The Iate Club Brasilia will host the Campeonato do DF on Lake Paranoá
