Snipe World Master Championship 2018

The very lively and populated Snipe class is about to hold its biggest event of the year, the SCIRA World Master Championship, organized by the Associação Naval de Lisboa and Federação Portuguesa de Vela in co-operation with the Snipe Class International Racing Association in Vilamoura, Portugal.

 

The event will start with the Opening Ceremony and Cocktail on Monday June 25th at Condor de Vilamoura and from Tuesday June 26th the actual Championship will start with 2 race per day until Saturday June 30th, when only one race will be sailed before crowning the 2018 SCIRA World Champions.

 

Around 100 boats are expected to enroll to the Snipe Master, and they will also be able to enjoy a super social schedule. With a show cooking, a ‘Chill out party’, a Formal dinner and the Closing Ceremony after the Prize Giving.

 

Four divisions of medals will be presented for trophies for the top three places in the following divisions:

Apprentice Master Division (45-54years)

Master Division (55-64 years)

Grand Master Division (65-74 years)

Master Legends Division (75years old and onwards)

The Id Crook Memorial Trophy will be presented to the top placing team for the Overall Master World Champion.

 

Before the World Championship another event will take place in Vilamoura, Trophy Domingos Borralho, from June 22nd to 24th and it will be a pre-World to all the participants.
