The French teams in both fleets in the 49er had a stellar day of racing on the water. In the Yellow Group, Julien D’Ortoli and Noe Delpech moved into fifth overall with amazing scores of 2,1,1. Meanwhile in Blue Fleet, Erwan Fischer and Clement Pequin take top spot on the podium with scores of 3,1,3. The French are tied with current World Champs Bart Lambriex and Floris van de Werken who are in second with an 8 point lead over the Polish Team in third.
In the 49erFX, 2x World Champs Odile van Aanholt and Annette Duetz, managed to take top spot after Day 2. This meant that China’s Hu and Shan moved down into second place. The two FX groups completed two races in big swells and light wind, unfortunately there was no third race for the FX sailors as the wind didn't play ball with the Race Committee.
With a more moderate northerly breeze on the cards for Thursday we can expect exciting races to conclude the Qualifying races.Today is the last day to make it into Gold Fleet so racing will be intense!
