The ILCA Senior Europeans is well underway with sailors, race officials and spectators looking forward to Day 3 of racing! This event is being hosted in Athens, Greece, and is an Olympic Qualifier for Paris 2024. Competitors are fighting for the last two spots in the ILCA 6 class, and the last seven places in the ILCA 7 class for the European sailors.
Day 1 and Day 2 were very light and tricky conditions, which meant that only ILCA 6 women and ILCA 6 men (under 21) managed to get one race in on Day 1 and left the ILCA 7 fleet with no races. Day 2 was looking hopeful but after multiple abandoned races due to lack of breeze, the day ended with no races completed for all the fleets.
The conditions that are expected for Day 3 look promising in the morning with a light breeze, but seemingly drops off in the afternoon.
