Peter Burling becomes longest reigning SSL World n°1

127 weeks. That's the time NZ's Peter Burling has been SSL World n°1. Since the SSL ranking exists (2013), never a sailor has dominated the International Sailor league for so long. The Kiwi makes this landmark even more impressive as he has been World n°1 for 127 consecutive weeks starting on December 10, 2019. Another SSL World record.

Peter Burling's World n°1 ranking shows how complete and consistent he has been as a Sailor with his all-time crew Blair Tuke - SSL World Crew n°1 for 127 weeks as well: 49er's Olympic champion at Rio 2016, winner of the Louis Vuitton's Cup and the America's Cup with Team NZ in 2017 (Bermuda) and then in 2021 at home in Auckland. The same year, he became the 49er's Olympic Silver medalist at Tokyo 2021 Games. And to make it more solid, he is a 6-time 49er's World Champion (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020). He is also involved in SailGP Team NZ.

Just after winning the Olympics in Rio 2016 and the America's Cup 2017, he raced the Volvo Ocean Race with Team Brunel to reach the Triple Crown, which he did not, finishing 3rd. Peter is human, after all, but what a superhuman.
